I’ll opt out of Jane Eyre (I’ve read it and I’m not a fan) but I’d be in for any of the other 3!

I have read all of these (but it’s been a minute) and I think they should be required reading for all students.

Think I’ll dive back in.

I remember staying up all night reading Rebecca, then a generation later my three children did the same thing.

I’m so so glad the Count of Monte Christo was at the top of your list! I just finished it a week ago and it is one of my all time favorite classics! I’ll definitely have to check out your other recommendations!

Well, the first two are favorites...so maybe I need to read East of Eden!

I’ve not read East of Eden but have read and taught the other two. Adding to my TBR!

Count took my breath away several times when I first read it. I won’t spoil by saying why. Rebecca was always the favorite of my sophomores by popular vote. They would come in clamoring to have their say in the discussion when the really juicy things happened. So good! 📚
