Not a big audio book kind of person, but my Princeton university book babe, Nicole barbaro simovski Ph.D says they count as reading. Yep we had a discussion about that. I guess my biggest issue is with the narrators, not the book content itself. Maybe this is something I should revisit in the future. Don’t want to begin rowing that Sean Connery boat, Never Say Never Again.

Her point in the essay was, does listening to an audio book count as reading a book? She said yes it does and explained that she listens to them regularly. She has a piece out today reviewing Jake tappers new book about Biden, and it appears she listened to an audio version because she mentioned listening to books narrated by trained news voices made for a better experience. Looking at your list of classics, I would say it would be easy for me to opt for an audio version of one or two, or even do what I call dual jobbing a work; listening to an audio version while also following along with the written text. I should try that just to see how I retain the plot. Change of pace experiment. Anyway, yours is a good list of books to start with
